Take highway 80 North to Auburn.  Exit on Elm Ave - keep to left lane.

Turn left, following signs to highway 49 South. Continue on highway 49, 
turning right at bridge crossing the American River and continuing on to Cool.

Turn left onto highway 193 in Cool, and continue to Sliger Mine Road on your left.
The total distance from Lincoln is about 28 miles. At this junction, to the right is 
Lance's roadhouse.  

Continue on Sliger Mine Road for just under 4 miles.  
There is then a right turn onto a dirt road for 1 1/4 miles to the trailhead (sign on right).  
Park as far off the road as you can.
