DIFFICULTY: Easy

ELEVATION GAIN: Almost none - just some short ups and downs

HIKE DISTANCE: 4 – 5 miles

GENERAL LOCATION: Adjacent to Folsom Lake. The entrance is off from Auburn Folsom Road

 

DESCRIPTION:  An easy hike leading to a pond very close to Folsom Lake that is surrounded by blooming Iris’s at this time of year. We should be able to see many wildflowers.  Bring a lunch and your camera.   This can be a short or long hike. It is only 1.1 mile to the picnic tables. There you can relax, have lunch or opt to do another 2 miles (RT - no hills)  Those who wont to go on the longer hike or 'walk in the park' will come back to join the group, have lunch when we will go back together.  The object of this hike is to enjoy the scenery, wildflowers, comradery, and take your time. 


TRAVEL TIME/RETURN TIME TO LINCOLN HILLS: ˝ hour, return to Lincoln Hills is between 2 or 3 PM.  The expected contribution for the driver is $3.

SPECIAL NOTES:

FACILITIES AVAILABLE : Available at the parking lot
PREPARATION FOR HIKE: Refer to #8—Standard Hiking Equipment and #9—Guidelines for Hiking on the “Hike  Information and Guidelines” (available on web site).  Hiking poles are not a necessity for this easy hike.
