BROWN’S RAVINE HIKE

Thursday October 22nd, 2015

DIFFICULTY:  Easy / Moderate

HIKE DISTANCE: 5 miles – in and out, not a loop

GENERAL LOCATION: In Folsom on the south side of Folsom Lake

DESCRIPTION:   We will hike a portion of the Folsom South Side Trail that is within the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area.  Since the Lake is very low we will not have the scenic views of the water that are normally a delight.  The trail is packed dirt, rocky in some places, level sections with some short ups and downs.  We will have lunch somewhere along the trail.

TRAVEL TIME/DISTANCE:  40 minutes driving time and 22 miles one way.  Suggested donation to driver is $4.  We will try to park out of the State Park parking area since there is a $10 fee for parking.  Unless we have hikers who can bring their CA State Park pass.

HIKE LEADER:
  Joyce Clark

FACILITIES AVAILABLE: Restrooms are available near the parking kiosk and also nonflush toilets near the trailhead
