DIFFICULTY: Very strenuous
ELEVATION GAIN: 2200 feet – the peak is 9103 feet
HIKE DISTANCE: 8.6 miles
GENERAL LOCATION: Interstate 80 near Donner summit
DESCRIPTION: This is a very strenuous hike mostly in the sun.
The crest affords great
360 degree views. We will hike over to Basin peak along the ridge and
then join
the Pacific Crest trail for the hike back. We
will have lunch at the peak.
TRAVEL
TIME/DISTANCE: About 1 ½ hour – 70
miles. Donation to
driver - $12. We
