HIKE DISTANCE: 6 Miles
GENERAL LOCATION: San Francisco
DESCRIPTION : We will drive to Vallejo and take the 10 AM ferry to San Francisco.
From the Ferry Building we will walk down the Embarcadero to Levi’s Plaza at
Sansome & Filbert Sts. Where we will take our time climbing the 300+
steps to Coit Tower. The steps snake
through beautiful backyard gardens & art deco buildings. Great views of the
city & possible sightings of the wild parrots of Telegraph Hill. Lunch will
be deli sandwiches at Washington Square in North Beach (Little Italy) and then
back to the Ferry Building via the cable car museum and Union
Square.
TRAVEL TIME/DISTANCE: 1.5 Hrs. / 90 Miles - this is a $12.00
ride.
HIKE LEADER/SWEEP: Steve Valeriote / Jill Valeriote
SPECIAL NOTES: Except for the steps (about ¾ mile) this is an
easy hike. If you are not comfortable with climbing steps & heights I would
not suggest this hike.
FACILITIES AVAILABLE: restroom along the route
PREPARATION FOR HIKE: Layered clothing, water bottles, comfortable walking shoes, money for
Ride, Ferry, Lunch & possibly Dinner on the way home.
