ELEVATION GAIN: +/- 500ft Start at 900 ft
HIKE DISTANCE: 6 miles
GENERAL LOCATION: Between Lincoln and Auburn
DESCRIPTON:
We will be hiking on the South Legacy Way to the Great Egret
Trail. The Memorial Bench for Dennis Ratay is located
100 yards from the intersection of these trails. Those of you
that were with me when we did the preview hike two years ago will
remember this beautiful trail. Now that is completed the trail
has bridges at what were rough spots. The trail overlooks the
Deadman and Coon Creeks, as well as the Viewing Deck. We will not
be going to the falls. Bring a Lunch. We will be eating early at
the Bench. Bring a plastic bag to sit on. We will take time to
enjoy the area. Therefore we will not be back in Lincoln before
1:30 or 2:00.
Be prepared to take everything with you on the hike that you don't want to lose.
TRAVEL TIME/DISTANCE: ½ hour, 15 miles SUGESTED CONTRIBUTION TO THE DRIVER: $3.00. We should be back in Lincoln by 12:30.

SPECIAL NOTES:
There are Bathrooms at the beginning of the hike. HEAT, Rain or muddy
trails will cancel the hike. If the temperature is forecast at 90
or above the hike will be canceled. Check the Web Site the day before
and on the morning of the hike .
PREPERATION FOR THE HIKE:
1) If you have any Health issues, please consider your condition before hiking

Bring copy of your ID (driver’s license) Health Card and an
emergency contact name and phone number with you on the
hike .
3)
Always bring 1 pair of shoes along with your Hiking Boots, along with a
bag to store your dirty hiking boots on the drive home. Pease be
considerate of the driver’s car and wear your clean shoes on the
way home.
4) Bring Lunch, water and sunscreen. Trekking poles are always recommended.
