JOHNSON RIDGE TRAIL -
SONOMA

DESCRIPTION:
This hike starts out on the Johnson Ridge trail in the Valley of the
Moon and climbs about 2,000 ft. up to the summit of Hood Mountain and
the Gunsight Rock overlook.
TRAVEL
TIME / DISTANCE: 2.5 Hrs. / 110 Miles. Suggested
contribution to driver is $18

the way home.

AVAILABLE: Restrooms at park entrance
PREPARATION
FOR HIKE: 1) IF YOU
HAVE ANY HEALTH ISSUES, PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR CONDITION BEFORE HIKING.
2) Bring a copy of your ID (driver's
license), health card, and an emergency contact name and phone number
with you on the hike.
3) Always bring 2 pairs of shoes,
along with a plastic bag to store your muddy/dusty hiking boots after
the hike. DO NOT get your driver's car dirty by wearing your
dirty boots on the way home.
4). Dress in layers.
Even in cool weather you can get hot hiking. Wear comfortable
hiking boots. Hiking poles are always advised.
Bring a lunch and water.
RISKS: Sunburn.
Do not forget sun screen.
