DISTANCE: 7.5 miles
round trip - not a loop.
GENERAL LOCATION:
Hwy.
88, just E of Silver Lake
DESCRIPTION: This
hike
goes to the highest point in Amador County. The 3.75 miles up
includes
forest, meadow, volcanic rock plugs and SPECTACULAR views including
360o at the
top. Part of the trail is rocky and a few places on
the singular
track have a drop off. Poles are strongly advised.
We will have lunch
near the top, before heading back down.
TRAVEL TIME/DISTANCE:
99
miles, just over 2 hours. A $15 donation to the driver would
be
appreciated. Return to Lincoln around 6 PM. A
dinner stop at In and
Out a possibility.

SPECIAL NOTES:
Please
note the high elevation and the considerable elevation gain, but we
will go at
a reasonable pace. It can be windy at the peak so you might
want an extra layer of warmth.

PREPARATION FOR HIKE:
1)
IF YOU HAVE ANY HEALTH ISSUES, PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR CONDITION BEFORE
HIKING
2)
Bring a copy of your ID (driver's license), Health Card, and an
emergency contact name and phone number with you when you hike.
3)
Always bring 2 pairs of shoes, along with a plastic bag to store your
muddy/dusty hiking boots after the hike. DO NOT get your driver's car
dirty by wearing your dirty boots on the drive home.
4)
Bring hiking poles, water, and lunch.
