INGRAM SLOUGH TRAIL
Tuesday, Dec 8, 2015

DIFFICULTY: Easy – GREAT FOR WALKERS

ELEVATION GAIN: Almost none

HIKE DISTANCE: About  4 miles

GENERAL LOCATION: Trailhead in Home Depot parking lot west of Highway 65

DESCRIPTION: From the NW corner of the Home Depot parking lot we will follow the channelized portion of Ingraham Slough under the Highway 65 bridge. From there the 10 foot wide trail parallels Ingraham Slough. It passes small nature preserves with vernal pools. The slough itself consists on several ponds (home to bluegill/ bass fishing areas). The ponds are connected by channelized section of improved channels. Beaver dams are located in the ponds. Shore birds are found along the shoreline. When we reach Ferrari Ranch Road, we walk the sidewalk for a couple of hundred yards. We then turn right on a connecting trail/ habitat area between development areas  back to the main trail. We follow the trail back to Home Depot.

FOOD: After the hike, people might want to have an early lunch at Panda Express.
