We started up Humbug Creek

Which entailed several creek crossings

Hiking through the woods

Finally, a bridge - but there was no creek under the bridge

At the overlook we stopped for lunch

Our hike leader, Jim Fisher, gives us some guidance

Dan surveys the diggins

We are at one of the tunnels that drains the pit

Dan explores the Miller Tunnel

A pond in the bottom of the pit

The group in the bottom of the pit

There are spectacular formations visible from the pit

Hiking back out of the pit, we pass old pipes that fed the Placer mining water cannons
