Not-Quite Ruck-A-Chuky Hike
Photos by Dennis Razay & Ed Murach
At the trail head
What we did - mostly on the Western States Trail along the Middle Fork of the mericazn River
The 9.4 mile hike down to the river and back gained over 1000 feet in elevation
Starting down the trail from trailhead parking
Our first view of the Middle Fork
We meet a stalemate at a creek crossing - macho men vs. the women
Nick pauses and poses at a mossy rock
Along the single-track Western States Trail
One photographer catches another
Our fearless leader, Sue Geisler, at the head of the pack
Sue deals with a trail obstacle - I believe she is being beheaded by an aligator
Still trekking...
Sue admiring a magnificent waterfall on the trail
The waterfall
The group passes the waterfall
Rapids on the Middle Fork
Not everything is beautiful in paradise
The group at a pause
Scattering to find a seat for lunch at Poverty Bar
Across the river is the road down to Drivers Bar
