Spenceville Wildlife Area - Photos by David & Monique Wood
Our happy group is about to embark on a fabulous hike
We start out crossing Dry Creek - surprisingly wet!
The beginning of the trail
Through the rolling hills and oak forests
Now onto the single-track trail toward the waterfall
The beautiful countryside includes vast meadows
Looking down on the creek and the mix of oaks and pines
Dan checking out the upper falls - he reported finding indian grinding holes (mortars)
The upper falls
The main waterfall on Dry Creek. This fall has many aliases: Fairy Falls, Shingle Falls, and Beale Falls
A closer view of the falls
The group heads to our lunch site
Everyone scrambles for the "best" sitting spot
At lunch
Gay, our hike leader, sits at the edge of the creek
