Easy,
short up and down on dirt trail. Very little elevation gain.

GENERAL
LOCATION:
at end of Rattlesnake Road by Folsom Lake
DESCRIPTION
:
an easy hike to a man-made pond adjacent to Folsom Lake. There should be plenty
of wildflowers this time of year. There were several turtles in the pond on the
pre-hike. Bring a snack or light lunch and camera. There are picnic tables at
the pond for break.
RISKS:
there is poison oak off of the trail; possibility of ticks or mosquitos although
none were sighted on the pre-hike. If there is recent rain there could be
mud.
TRAVEL
TIME / DISTANCE : 30
minutes, 16 miles. A donation of $3 is suggested for riders. Return time about
12 noon. If you have a State Park pass please bring, otherwise parking is
$12.

PREPARATION
FOR HIKE:

Bring
a copy of your ID (driver’s license), health card, and an emergency contact
phone number with you when you hike.

If
you have any health issues, please consider your condition before
hiking.

Always
bring 2 pairs of shoes, along with a plastic bag to store your muddy/dusty boots
after the hike.

Bring
lunch/snack, water, and hiking boots. Trekking poles are
recommended.
