ELDERBERRY AND MOUNT AZUL TRAILS
TUESDAY APRIL 5, 2022

DIFFICULTY: Easy/Moderate. Easy by length, but there is one hill that is steep
on a paved city trail that makes this hike moderate.

HIKE DISTANCE: About 4 and a quarter miles long.

GENERAL LOCATION:
SCLH and adjacent Mount Azul subdivision.


DESCRIPTION: The Elderberry Trail is dirt and gravel starting

from Hidden Hills Lane within SCLH. It ends by the water tanks serving our
community. Here it joins the Mount Azul Estates Trail going through the
open space lands within that development. This paved city trail has one
steep hill along it. The trail crosses the development and then runs parallel
to Twelve Bridges Road. From there we will take the private road serving
the development passing by the million dollar plus homes back to the
Elderberry Trail and to our cars.

TRAVEL TIME/ DISTANCE: 3 minutes; the drive is about 1 mile.

FACILITIES AVAILABLE: None on trail. Use Orchard Creek or home at
before start of the hike.

PREPARATION FOR HIKE:

Bring a snack and water with you. AND ALWAYS:

1. Consider health issues prior to hiking.

2. Bring a copy of your drivers license, health card and emergency
contact name and phone number with you on the hike.

3. If car pooling bring 2 pairs of shoes along with a plastic bag to store
muddy/dusty/wet shoes with you on the hike to keep drivers car clean.

RAIN DAY OF HIKE CANCELS IT.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Turn right on Dell Webb, go 2 intersections and turn lett on Stoneridge Blvd.  After 2 stop signs turn left on Hidden Hills Lane. Park along open space area at the end of the road.
