False Ravine

DIFFICULTY: Easy

ELEVATION GAIN: 250 feet

HIKE DISTANCE: 4.1 miles

GENERAL LOCATION: In Roseville off Sierra College Road

DESCRIPTION:  We start at the south end of Miners Trail at Sierra College Road.  Miner's Ravine travels through a city-protected open space corridor toward downtown Roseville. The Hiking Group as hiked often at the north end of the trail. We will stroll about 2 miles along this creek corridor. We will then take the False Ravine trail another mile through a second protected open space corridor.  Portions of the trail abut large elegant homes.  We can reflect that we don’t have to maintain the landscaping of some of these mansions.  We return on a neaighborhood street -  a lolltpop loop.  A gem of an urban trail. 

SNACK: Bring a snack and water.

RESTROOMS: There are no restrooms at the trailhead or along the trail - and scant defilade. Skip your morning cup of coffee, and use Orchard Creek facilities prior to the hike.  After the hike, Fin's is minutes away.

LUNCH: We will lunch at Fins (see menu). It is a nice seafood restaurant 1 mile south of the trailhead.  If you do not want to join us for lunch, arrange to car-pool with like-minded hikers.

RISKS: None. Trail is a wide asphalt hiking/biking trail.  Tennis or walking shoes are all the equipment needed.
