DESCRIPTION: Gibson Ranch is one of the Sacramento County Regional Parks.
It is one of the few remaining publicly
owned working ranches. It
originally
was over 1700 acres but now is around 300 acres. The
livestock includes
many horses
(some thoroughbreds) with many stables and pastures for
the horses,
cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, turkeys, chickens, and lammas.
There is a stocked fishing pond, numerous
picnic tables that can be reserved for parties, a small swimming beach
on Dry
Creek, and the original barn is still standing. This
is a beautiful ranch/park that is about 20 miles from
Lincoln Hills. Come and visit and
remember this as a great place to return with family and friends for a
future
picnic!
