HIDDEN
FALLS REGIONAL PARK LOOP
Creeks,
Pools, and Waterfalls
May 9, 2023
Difficulty:
Moderate
Elevation/Elevation
Gain: Probably about 1000 feet total climbing. Some short steep places.
Hike
Distance: About a 5.1 mile loop
General
Location: Hidden Falls Regional Park, between Lincoln and Auburn
Description:
This hike travels along creeks, pools, and waterfalls. Our
Spring rains will probably mean that the water flow will be pretty
spectacular. We take the
Poppy Trail along Deadman Creek to the Whiskey Diggins Bridge. After
crossing the bridge, we go up the Blue Oak Loop trail to the Seven
Pools Vista overlooking Coon Creek, and stop for a short snack break.
Then we’ll continue past there to meet the Seven Pools Loop Trail, and
take the trail to follow along Coon Creek for views of pools and
cascades. The loop meets Canyon View Trail and we take that to continue
along the creek until we come to Canyon View Bridge. At the bridge
there is a short optional climb to the Canyon View overlook. Then we
take the Hidden Falls Access Trail to the overlook of the falls where
we will take a lunch break. We return on Hidden Falls Access trail and
then back up the Poppy Trail to the parking lot.
