JOHNNY CASH TRAIL

Six miles, out and back (not a loop)


ELEVATION GAIN:
600 feet elevation.

TRAIL CONDITIONS:
The majority of the trail is level with rolling hills. Trail is all back

top.

DESCRIPTION:
The trail honors Johnny Cash. The City of Folsom plans to install

public art along the trail which will celebrate and honor the legendary singer, his
music, and his history with the City of Folsom. We will see the “Guitar Pic” that was
installed. We will have a snack/lunch break at the Johnny Cash Bridge. This is half
way through the hike.  We should return to Lincoln by 1:30 pm.

FACILITIES:
There is a clean out house at the beginning of the hike. There are two

restrooms near the prison.

DRIVER TIME/MILEAGE:
40 minutes driving time, 23 miles one way.


DONATION:
Suggested donation of $5 for riders. No parking fees.

PREPARATION FOR HIKE:

 
Being prepared physically as well as having the right equipment makes for a

better experience, not only for you, but for your fellow hikers.
 
 If you have any health issues, please consider your condition before hiking

What to bring:
  PLENTY OF WATER! Recommend 50 oz/1.5 liters minimum;  hiking boots/shoes, hat, sun protection, insect repellant, small first aid kit; wind/rain jacket always advisable; trekking poles
recommended.
   ID (driver’s license), health insurance card, emergency contact and phone
number.
   Extra pair of shoes to change into after hike and a plastic bag for muddy/dusty
hiking boots to keep your driver’s car clean.
