GENERAL LOCATION: Near — before reaching the town of Vallejo, in Solano County.
DESCRIPTION:
If you have driven Highway 80, heading west toward San Francisco, you
have probably admired the expansive rolling hills between Fairfield and
Vallejo. It is an amazing experience to hike those wonderful
green hills and feel the freedom of wide open spaces!! Lynch Canyon is owned by Solano Land Trust and protects agricultural land and open space. So — we will hike the hills sharing the trail with cows, but they are not aggressive or a problem. We
will enjoy lunch at a picnic table at a high point of the hike —— and
will enjoy some fantastic views of the surrounding communities, the
Bay, and various mountains, even Mt. Diablo!! See prehike photos.
TRAVEL TIME/DISTANCE:
1 1/2 hour driving time and 79 miles one way. Return time to
Lincoln —- approximately 4:00 pm. A donation of $9 is suggested
for riders. A $5 parking fee is required per car — to be divided
between riders. Driving directions — see below and please print
before coming to the hike, if driving.
