ROUND LAKE TRAIL/GROUSE RIDGE THURSDAY, AUGUST 15, 2024
DESCRIPTION: Looking for a moderate hike alongside 4 amazing lakes with gorgeous views, lush meadows, massive granite outcrops and lots of shaded trail? Then the Round Lake Trail just might be for you. We will traipse alongside Carr Lake, Feeley Lake, Island Lake and Round Lake where we will lunch. The Lincoln Hills Hiking Club has never done his hike:let’s share it together.
DIFFICULTY: Moderate. Some uphill sections at altitude
HIKE DISTANCE: Approx. 4.9 miles
ELEVATION: 6900 feet at start;7200 highest. 706 ft gain
PACE:Relaxed
TRAIL CONDITIONS; Generally excellent. A few easy stream crossings Mosquitos may be present (None on Pre-hike).
FACILITIES: Portable bathrooms at trailhead.
DRIVE TIME: MILES: 1 hour and 35 minutes driving time and 72 miles one way. Return time to Lincoln --- approximately 4:00 pm.. NOTE: Some of the reviews comment that the dirt road (last 3 miles) is very rough. Not true. Any two wheel drive cars with average clearance will be fine..

MEET/LEAVE TIME: 7:30 am LEAVING TIME: 7:45 am.
PREPARATION FOR HIKE: 1) IF YOU HAVE ANY HEALTH ISSUES, PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR CONDITION AND THE ELEVATION BEFORE HIKING. 2) Bring a copy of your ID (driver's license), health card, and an emergency contact name and phone number with you on the hike. 3) Always bring 2 pairs of shoes, along with a plastic bag to store your muddy/dusty hiking boots after the hike. DO NOT get your driver's car dirty by wearing your dirty boots on the drive home. 4) Bring lunch, water, hiking boots and trekking poles for crossing streams.
