DISTANCE : 4.6
miles, elevation 3500 feet
GENERAL
LOCATION : Off
Foresthill Road northeast of Auburn
DESCRIPTION
: The
hike starts on a dirt trail thru the forest and over the dam across
Shirttail Creek. There will be views of the lake most of the time. At
about the halfway point we will stop for a lunch/snack break and
continue on a paved trail to complete the loop. Total time about 2+
hours.
TRAVEL
TIME / DISTANCE : 1
¼ hours, 47 miles. A donation of $12 is suggested
for
riders. If you have a Federal Senior pass, bring it. Otherwise share
the $5 fee equally. Return time early afternoon.

PREPARATION
FOR HIKE:

Bring
a copy of your ID (driver’s license), health card, and an emergency
contact phone number with you when you hike.

If
you have any health issues, please consider your condition before
hiking.

Always
bring 2 pairs of shoes, along with a plastic bag to store your
muddy/dusty boots after the hike.

Bring
lunch/snack, water, and hiking boots. Trekking poles are recommended,
but not required.
RISKS: There
is poison oak, but off of the trails. If there has been recent rain
there could be some mud. Be careful of drop-offs along the trail.
