Winchester Trails Hike

DIFFICULTY:
Moderate We
will start at Sugar Pine Ridge Park (formerly Winchester Park) and walk along a
combination of paved and dirt/gravel trails through the Winchester Country Club
community, returning to the park.
ELEVATION
GAIN: Starting elevation 1,800 ft. Elevation gain: 650 ft.
HIKE
DISTANCE: Approximately 6 miles round trip.
PACE: Moderate
GENERAL
LOCATION: Winchester Country Club, Meadow
Vista, CA
DESCRIPTION: Winchester has an unpaved perimeter trail, along with
numerous paved trails. We will walk along
a undulating combination of these paths, enjoying views ranging from the local
woodlands and community to the
coastal ranges/ Sierras.
LUNCH: For those wishing to go out, we will plan to
go to a local dining
establishment called The Local Café, which features baked goods, sandwiches,and
salads on their menu (along with coffee, tea, beer, and wine).
TRAVEL TIME: 30 minutes to Meadow
Vista. Five minutes drive from Sugar
Pine Ridge Park in Winchester to The Local Café, on Placer Hills Road in the
downtown area. Return time after lunch expected to be 2:00pm . A $
5.00 contribution to the driver is recommended.

SPECIAL NOTES:
RESTROOMS: Available at the park and at the restaurant
PREPARATIONS FOR HIKE:
1. Always bring drivers license,
Health ID card, and emergency
contact/phone information with
you.
2. The dirt trail may have some damp
spots, so having a change of shoes
along with a plastic bag for
dirty shoes may be advisable.
3. Trekking poles may be useful for
the dirt paths
4. Water and a small snack are
always good to have along.

RETURN TIME:
Approximately 2:00pm arrival at OC.
MEETING TIME:
8:15 am at Orchard Creek near gym, departure by 8:30am
Rain on
day of hike cancels. We will use paved
paths if trails are too wet.
