FABULOUS 40’s CHRISTMAS WALKThursday December 18, 2014
DIFFICULTY: Easy
ELEVATION GAIN: Almost flat, with some broken sidewalks and tree roots
HIKE DISTANCE: 5 miles (loop)
GENERAL LOCATION: In mid-town Sacramento
in the Fabulous 40’s.
DESCRIPTION: The Fabulous 40’s neighborhood of Sacramento
gets its name from both its location around 40th Street and Folsom
Avenue and also the abundance of wonderful homes that are still in marvelous condition.
TRAVEL
TIME/DISTANCE: We will drive to the light-rail in
Folsom which is approximately 30 minutes from Lincoln Hills. We will take the light-rail and get off at the
39th Street
stop, walk around the neighborhood between 43rd and 38th and then have lunch at the 33rd Street Bistro at the
corner of 33rd and Folsom Avenue and return on the light-rail. This a wonderful old neighborhood in Sacramento that will be
nicely decorated for Christmas. Based
on the length of the drive, a per person monetary contribution of $5 for gas
would be appreciated --- to be given to the driver at beginning of drive.
Detailed driving directions will be handed out to all drivers.
