Fair Oaks to the American River

DIFFICULTY: Easy

 

HIKE DISTANCE: 5-6 miles

 

ELEVATION GAIN: 1 hill back and forth to the American River Bike Trail

 

GENERAL LOCATION: Fair Oaks

 

 DESCRIPTION: We will walk around the village of Fair Oaks and walk down to the American River Bike Trail and along the river going west before returning to Fair Oaks.

 

TRAVEL TIME/DISTANCE: 35 minutes each way and anticipate returning around 1:00 pm. Based on the length of the drive, a per-person monetary contribution of $4 for gas would be appreciated, given to driver at beginning of drive.

SPECIAL NOTES:

FACILITIES AVAILABLE: On the American River Bike Trail and afterwards at a coffee shop in Fair Oaks

 
PREPARATION FOR HIKE: Wear comfortable walking shoes and layered clothes. Bring water and a snack and money for lunch afterwards.
