Nimbus Fish Hatchery to Willow Creek

Folsom


DESCRIPTION:
We will begin our hike at the Fish Hatchery.  The Steelhead may be coming up the ladder and we’ll take a tour around the hatchery.  Then, we will proceed upstream on the American River Bike Trail (paved) and adjacent dirt trails. It is a beautiful walk and there will be lots of birds.  We will have lunch at the picnic tables at Willow Creek

 

SPECIAL NOTES:

(1)Bring ID, emergency contact name and number, and health provider

(2)Always bring 2 pairs of shoes and plastic bag to store muddy shoes after hike.

(3)Bring lunch, water, layered clothing, and trekking poles if you use them.

(4)Bathroom facilities available at hatchery and our lunch stop.

 

TRAVEL TIME/DISTANCE: Approximately 40 minute drive / 20 miles.  Return time to Lincoln is around 2:30 PM.  Suggested donation to the driver is $3.00.

Exit on Stoneridge
Left on Twelve Bridges
Right on Sierra College/Hazel (name change-same street)
Proceed about 17 miles
Right on Gold Country Blvd (at the light just after you cross the river)
Immediate right into the fish hatchery
