Nimbus Fish Hatchery to Fair Oaks Bridge

HIKE DISTANCE:
5 miles


GENERAL LOCATION:
Folsom


DESCRIPTION:
We will begin our hike at the Fish Hatchery and proceed downstream on the American River Bike Trail (paved) and adjacent dirt trails. It is a beautiful walk and there will be lots of birds.  Our destination will be the walking bridge that crosses the river at Fair Oaks.  If the trail is not too muddy on the other side of the bridge, we will climb a short distance to an overlook.

 

TRAVEL TIME/DISTANCE:  Approximately 40 minute drive / 20 miles.  Return time to Lincoln is around 1:00 PM.  Suggested donation to the driver is $3.00.

SPECIAL NOTES:

FACILITIES AVAILABLE: Bathrooms at the Trail Head.
PREPARATION FOR HIKE:
Tennis shoes, layered clothing appropriate for the weather and a snack and water.  We should be home in time for lunch in Lincoln Hills.
