A Walk in the Park

Miner’s Ravine & False Ravine

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

DIFFICULTY: Easy

ELEVATION GAIN:
scant

HIKE DISTANCE:
6 ½ to 9 miles

GENERAL LOCATION:
Roseville

DESCRIPTION:
This is a hidden treasure in Roseville. Miner’s ravine is a 6½ mile trail through beautiful riparian landscape right in the heart of Roseville. A branch of this trail, False Ravine, adds an additional 1½ to 3 miles. Sights include the babbling water of Miner’s Ravine, spring flowers, and the backyards of estates along the wetlands. Based on hikers’ interests, we can vary the distance covered. The trailhead, off Sierra College Blvd., is near Fin’s restaurant. We plan to end our hike with a fish sandwich lunch. We will try and setup carpooling to accommodate hikers’ interests.

TRAVEL TIME/DISTANCE: 12 miles – about 20 minutes. Return after lunch – probably home before 2PM.  This is a $3 ride.

David & Monique Wood
